THE SHEPHERD'S HOUSE

Church of the Nazarene

Our mission is to build a strong body of spirit-filled believers that will shake our community and the world with the reality of Jesus Christ. Our hope is that when you come to the Shepherds House Church you will quickly find a warm, friendly group of people committed to making church a fun, exciting, and life-changing experience. Our services allow the presence of God to move in a transforming way.

The Shepherd’s House Vision:

Engage

Mark 12:30-31

Jesus was answering the question, “What is the most important commandment?”  He said,

“Love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  The second is this, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no commandment greater than these.”

We believe to fulfill this vision we must ENGAGE.

What does it mean to ENGAGE?

It simply means to Participate and to get involved with

What should we ENGAGE in?

We believe we as Christians should ENGAGE 3 things…

1. Jesus Christ

God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, into the world so that we can KNOW Him.To ENGAGE Jesus Christ, we each must accept Him for ourselves as our LORD, get to know Him for ourselves, and live our lives the way that He leads us and teaches us.When we follow Jesus, God gives us the ability to love everyone else around us.

2.The Church

The Church is simply Christians who are following Jesus Christ. To ENGAGE the church, we don’t just meet together one or 2 times a week, we live our lives together. We invest in each other.Sure, Church isn’t perfect because it’s made up of people who aren’t perfect, but we commit ourselves to each other so that we can learn from each other. We use our abilities and gifts to serve each other. At The Shepherd’s House, our attitude is…”What can I give?”and not “What can I get?”.

3. The Community I Live In

We believe that what Jesus meant by loving our “neighbor” was to love the people that are right around us…sure, our neighbors where we live, but also our neighbors where we work, our neighbors where we shop, our neighbors at school, and our neighbors in our cities.Wherever we go, we have neighbors. We believe that we should be helping our neighbors and loving our neighbors. We do this in almost as many ways as there are people in our church…but it always involves being friends, sharing our lives, and most importantly, inviting other people to get to know Jesus. We are around people every day.We want to be in the middle of our world, having compassion and ready to share the hope that we have in Jesus with anyone we meet.
